Le Trou des Fées, actually l’Oustau dei Fado (the House of the Fairies), is a fortified cave. It is located in a vertical fracture in a cliff rising above the Issole river to the north of the village.

A loop on the heights of Thoronet taking you between vineyards, olive trees and hamlets to the banks of the Argens river where you can take a break in the cool. The name of the route is known as “Manjas de Perus” translating to wild pear eaters linked to the poverty of isolated hamlets.

Starting from the village of Thoronet, follow this steep path which will guide you to the fabulous Thoronet Abbey. The return will be made, in part, by the Way of Saint-Jacques.

A pretty little pass to climb: 768m, second summit of the Maures just after the Sauvette signal which culminates at 776m. The reward: the chapel of Notre-Dame des Anges and the spectacular view of the Var.

Making a foray into the Gulf of Saint-Tropez via the Plaine des Maures is following one of the favorite routes of local cyclists. Objective: the Col de Vignon after breakfast at Plan de la Tour…
