Halfway between the Gulf of Saint Tropez and the Gorges du Verdon

About forty minutes from St-Tropez or St-Maxime crossing the Massif des Maures or 50km from the Gorges du Verdon. This is the Provençal Var hinterland, particularly appreciated by hikers and cyclists, sheltered from the effervescence of the coast, in a forest massif and wine-growing and agricultural land (olives, fruits and vegetables).

The story

It all starts in 2015

Named La Dessalinienne, it’s a nod to our father, a previous owner of Haitian origin. The name comes from Jean-Jacques Dessaline, an officer in the French army during the revolution who fought against the Spanish and British before taking part in the Haitian revolution and becoming the first emperor of Haiti under the name of Jacques 1er.

A life of romantic adventure for a colourful character who left his name to the Haitian national anthem: the Dessalinienne.

The villa, which is around forty years old, underwent a total renovation (kitchen, bathrooms, floors, walls, electricity, plumbing, etc.) in 2015. The house was designed to satisfy athletes, solitary people, moments of conviviality, rest and especially shared meals.

And now

With a total area of 230 m2 on two floors, it offers: – 2 air-conditioned bedrooms (double bed 160*200cm) on the ground floor; – 1 bedroom (2 90cm beds side by side) upstairs with air conditioning; – a children’s “dormitory” (3 beds plus a cot) with air conditioning; – two bathrooms with walk-in shower; – a living room of 30 m²; – a breakfast room; – a large kitchen in the verandas of 50 m² with BBQ.

We draw your attention to the fact that the villa is rented for a maximum of 9 occupants.

All the equipment is new, including the furniture. The kitchen is fully equipped (oven, microwave, dishwasher, 2 coffee makers, robots, dishes for young and old, …)

The house has also been available for rent on the Abritel website since 2015.

Superb villa, fully equipped, down to the smallest detail! Very comfortable bedding (the “large” is as much for the size as for the comfort by the way!!)

The immediate surroundings are very peaceful!

There are lots of places to visit and walk. We didn’t have time to get bored the 3 weeks we were there! And what about the swimming pool?? Brilliant, large and very well maintained!

Magnificent villa, completely renovated. An equipped kitchen, with character, the rendering is even better than in the photos. All rooms are air-conditioned. A large swimming pool, which allows you to have a great time.

The welcome from Karine and Christina was top notch.

The stay was very pleasant. The pool was more than big enough for 7 people but not too cold. The environment was very quiet with very quiet neighbours, but a little difficult to access due to the narrow roads. We were pleasantly surprised by the large selection of board games and equipment in the kitchen. In addition air conditioning in almost every room. Thanks to the host for helping us take out the rubbish at the end of our stay.
